Review: Forever Still - Breaking Free

I've been checking out the new release from Denmark's Forever Still that was released on February 15. Having heard the song "The Key" previously I was already anxious to see how the final product would come together. Breaking Free is comprised of three original tracks and an acoustic track of the albums second song, "The Last Day" to serve as the fourth and final track.

The first thing that immediately jumps out at you is front woman Maja's powerful voice. Her delivery on the tracks is pretty stunning. "The Key" is the first song on the release (See official video below) and
delivers by showcasing Maja's ability to hold you captivated with her soothing tones. Building up to a short burst of screams at the end of the track, Forever Still shows that it is not content with just being melodic.

Although "The Key" was the track picked to be the single, and understandably so, the second track, "The Last Day" would have to be my favorite song on the album. The EP closes out with the songs "Towards The Edge" and the acoustic track. Short and sweet, the EP effectively showcases the bands strengths and makes a clear case why they deserve your attention. An excellent release from a band that is just getting started. Give them a listen.
